Good for Kids
These were good to play with my little one, and some of these we started as early as 4 years old:
Single Player, Take Turns
- Lil Gator Game - Steam : An incredibly charming 3D Zelda-like game about being an imaginative kid in nature. Bop cardboard baddies, brave serene hills and forests, and scale sheer rocks that only a kid would dare! Explore a lovingly crafted island full to the brim with areas to discover, friends to make and joy to be had. Each area of the island brings unique quests and characters to meet.
- StuntMANIA Reloaded - Steam : A broken and janky game, but is all about driving around, exploring every nook and cranny, and finding a bunch of collectibles. It feels unfinished, but it’s cheap and fun.
Local Multiplayer/Co-op
- Heave Ho - Steam : Heave Ho tasks up to four players with a simple goal – don’t fall to your death! Players will use their own two hands and the outstretched grip of their friends to grapple across each level on their way to victory.
- Boomerang Fu - Steam : Slice and dice your friends with boomerangs in this frantic physics party game. Join a crew of your favorite foods as you grill, chill and spill your enemies. Discover ridiculous power-ups and stack them together in deadly combinations.
- Drink More Glurp - Steam : Drink More Glurp is a wacky physics, sports(ish), hot seat, party game set on a distant world where aliens have copied Earth’s summer games and got everything slightly wrong.
- Regular Human Basketball - Steam : Ready to play some ball? Grab a team, suit up, and climb inside your human! Prep its thrusters, lower the all-terrain wheels, and spin up that flailing magnet-arm. It's time to play Regular Human Basketball!
- UFO 50 - Steam : UFO 50 is a collection of 50 single and multiplayer games, all with a NES-era vibe. Explore a variety of genres, from platformers and shoot 'em ups to puzzle games, roguelites, and RPGs. The game combines a familiar 8-bit aesthetic with new ideas and modern game design.
- Rayman Origins - Steam, and Rayman Legends - Steam : Charming 2D platforming with incredible soundtracks. I prefer Origins’ art style, but you can’t go wrong with either.
- Any LEGO games, but we had the most fun with LEGO Incredibles.
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (on Switch)
- Nintendo Land (on WiiU)
Online Multiplayer
- Minecraft (we prefer Java Edition): Needs no introduction. The infinite game.
- Wobbly Life
- MotorTown
Cozy Games for just me
- Lushfoil Photography Sim
Local Multiplayer for Older Kids
- Nidhogg and Nidhogg 2
